The SKS is a superior gun to any other sniper. The SKS, atleast in my opinion is one of the most underrated and unnecessarily hated guns in all of DayZ, let me explain. The SKS is far superior to the Mosin at close and medium ranges as it's mag of ten and semi-auto fire can destroy a person before a Mosin can shoot more than two rounds, and now ...A Yugo, with grenade launcher and sights. As with any used gun, bring a cleaning rod or boresnake when shopping. A fresh slime of oil hides some bad sins in that barrel. Russians are great SKS rifles, but just as good yugoslavian SKS go for much less. The only weakness in the yugos are the complicated gas system and soft metal firing pins.It's not so much anti Bubba as the fact that there essentially isn't a satisfactory way to mount a scope to a SKS, and for the effective range of the rifle, you're really just as well off spending the money on ammo and learning to shoot the iron sights well. Here in Illinois, SKS prices seem to be higher and have always been higher then in some or most of the southern states. The Yugo SKS's around me, mainly the "unissued" Yugo's, seem to be going for anywhere from $75 -$150 more then what they were 2 years ago.
